Design of three robots' structures, drive trains and various other components using OpenSCAD / Structural parts machining on a CNC using Fusion360 at FabLAB iMAL / Drive train and other parts design and 3d printing / E-bike like lithium battery pack custom design using 18650 spot-welded and a BMS / Motor control and sensor data collection using two Arduinos on each robot / Sensors' data interpretation path planning and sound playback in MaxMSP running on a miniPC on each robot

Arduino actuated electro-vans to create pseudo rain in an enclosed environment / Creation of structure with different types of water dispensers to hang from the ceiling. / Dedicated Video Player programmed in OpenFrameworks to display clips of fake rain filmed in a studio are projected on the 4 walls of an open top cube / Kinect based presence tracking to link to the real rain in the space and the one video projected to the amount of the visitors in the cube

Custom interactive 3d engine developed in MaxMSP-Jitter to handle animations and trajectories of unique objects or swarms of objects / Design of an Arduino shield to connect to IR sensors to measure rotation of nine cranks disposed on a sphere in the center of the space / The screen (a custom made half sphere designed by Marcio) is projected upon thru a round mirror and a precise mapping is obtained via MadMapper / They are actuated by the visitors to control the installation in different ways depending on the scene we're in

Dedicated photographic capture software programmed in MaxMSP-Jitter / Allow the visitors to draw with their bodies using an accumulation effect applied to a live camera stream (pseudo long exposure) / Visitors witness their creation in real time via a video projection in front of them then it's automatically printed when they stop moving

Oups! - 2007

Interactive video installation by Marcio Ambrosio

Dedicated software developed in MaxMSP-Jitter / Motion tracking techniques are used to analyze different aspects of the detected visitor's silhouette / The engine allows Marcio to add a scene by feeding it a folder with named animation clips with alpha and sound files. / A naming convention allows him to place the image in the foreground or background / It's also possible to attach the images to several anchor points on the detected visitor (eg center of mass - head - feet)
